At any moment I may feel the urge to stroke my growing tummy, even in public! It’s my way of giving a hug to my tiny ray of light, my very own rising star. I know, this may seem a little bizarre, especially when I’m in the middle of a serious conversation and I feel the need, I simply dart into the washroom to quench my urge. This is when I am in tune with the super-natural. I admit, this often surprises the other parties in the conversation. Occasionally, I can be seen talking softly to my resident alien, speaking a language that only my child and I can understand, an original dialect that has become my secret code to communicate with my baby. I love to sing to my child while rocking him/her gently or tell him/her stories of long lost worlds, but contrary to popular belief, I’m not losing my mind! However, I’m often distracted and I tend to forget more than I remember. I’ve become particularly awkward, tripping over my own feet as if my body’s transformation were too new to handle. I’m always sleepy and my circadian rhythm is more adapted to the planet of my super origins. Furthermore, I sleep with my legs up… or hugging pillows and cushions. This, I’m told, is a very natural super-natural behaviour. I am redecorating the whole house. Our super-natural residence has to be perfect for this new superhero. In addition, I compulsively clean the house from top to bottom and get upset if everything isn’t perfect. My special guest has very high aesthetic standards and is allergic to messes! Even my choice of food has morphed, I only eat bright colours. It’s my super-natural diet! My transformation into a super-natural being has also meant that I spend a lot of time in the bathtub, drink litres and litres of water and I also tend to cry a lot, but they are tears of joy. Not to mention that I seem to have this illusion that I can print my own money since I’ve bringing home all kinds of baby items each and every day!
Even if I look a little strange, almost super-natural, I know that I am simply super and very natural because I am expecting a part of the future, a new life!
How about you, have you developed super-natural behaviours?
